Valeria Lima (born 1958) is a business economist, publicist and specialist in marketing and communication. She has been active in the logistics sector for more than 30 years, organizes trade fairs and congresses, advises companies in the industry and has worked for 20 years on the news portal www.logweb.com.br, which specializes in logistics, and the Logweb Institute. She specializes in logistics and supply chain management.
Valeria is also President of the Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain-Ilog and Director of Industria e Comercio de envasados Sol Nascente – Agua mineral Beija Flor.
One thing is forgotten far too often: Every innovative intralogistics system needs qualified people to operate it.

What else can an IFOY applicant surprise you with?
I am constantly coming into contact with technology, sustainability and innovation in increasingly efficient logistics processes. The only way to surprise me is with even more technology. I am sure that the two current global trends of automation and artificial intelligence will have a few surprises in store for the IFOY jury.
What are the characteristics of a successful intralogistics solution?
My lesson learned is: the more automation there is, the greater the efficiency in intralogistics.

Edson Carillo
Edson is Valeria’s permanent deputy on the IFOY jury. He has more than 35 years of experience in supply chain management and logistics. He is Senior Managing Director at Connexxion Brazil, Supply Chain Engineering, consultant and trainer in Operations (SCM and Manufacturing) and specialist in Lean Manufacturing from Kaizen Institute and TOC – Theory of Constrains from Avraham Goldratt Institute. As Vice President of ABRALOG, he also teaches operations management in the MBA program at FGV – FUNDACAO GETULIO VARGAS. He is co-author of several books and was formerly an industrial engineer at Kibon and a research engineer at Cia Ultragaz.
