Constructions that "shoulder" entire shelves and yet sometimes look as if they have been put together using components from a fischertechnik construction kit - these are solutions that can still surprise even me.

Interview

What else can companies surprise you with as an IFOY jury member?

With constructions that “shoulder” entire shelves, but whose stability sometimes makes them look as if they were put together using components from a Fischertechnik construction kit.

How much has the focus on sustainability changed intralogistics?

The industry has reacted surprisingly quickly and consistently to the demands placed on it by the requirements to reduce CO2 emissions. What was initially assumed to be merely an advertising advantage or additional marketing factor has quickly turned out to be a decisive market advantage thanks to numerous green and future forums. A clear indication of the flexibility of an industry that many consider to be rather conservative.

How do you proceed with the evaluation?

Look at the data sheet, check the ratings from the audit. Above all, ask the developers present at the presentation any questions that are out of the ordinary. Only those who make sure that the product is also prepared for actions that seem to be deliberately misused and have built in appropriate security mechanisms and features have thought through their task properly.
