Interview
What makes an IFOY nominee and what else can surprise you as a juror?
IFOY stands for innovation. For me, that means efficiency and less work in every respect. Innovative companies think outside the box and come up with products that are more creative, more reliable, more sustainable, more economical and easier to produce. You can surprise me with simple ideas that you hadn’t thought of before.
What are the characteristics of a successful intralogistics solution?
The way in which the product is designed, manufactured and then sold. Many start-ups can fulfill the first two elements, but fail because they do not know how best to sell themselves.
How do you proceed with the evaluation?
This is different in each category and can change from year to year.
But I always look at all aspects of design, manufacturing and listen to the experts on the IFOY panel.
What is your highlight at the IFOY AWARD?
Definitely the TEST CAMP!
